So everyone is dealing with the aftermath of Isabel. Alot of people are still without power, but luckily we only lost it for about ten seconds on Thursday night. Thank goodness the Hokie game wasn’t interrupted (but it was for alot of other people).
My parents both lost it during the day on Thursday, but I think everyone is back to normal now. Lots of downed trees and flooding down in the Hampton Roads area, as well as NoVA.
Some of the water treatment plants in our area lost power so they advised everyone to boil their tap water before drinking (that ended yesterday). A tree almost fell on my car; fortunately, the SUV two spaces over took the brunt of the damage. It’s hood and fender were dented which left the tree to dangle in the empty space between our cars while the leaves and small branches brushed up against my car. I thought there were some small scratches on the passenger side door, but it turned out to be nothing.
So, lots of rain and wind, flooding, power outages, downed trees, and a big Hokie win and Heisman-esque performance by Kevin Jones…quite a way to end the summer!
