What a weekend. Spent alot of yesterday watching footage from the terrible Columbia disaster. It brought back memories, bad ones at that, of the Challenger back in 1986. Hearing the final words of the Columbia commander really got to me…it’s just awful.

Decided on our invitations yesterday and started our registry at Hechts. We’re going to have to go back to finish it though; it’s just way too much to do in one sitting.

On Friday, my throat started to not feel well; a sure sign of one of my killer sinus infections that I tend to get a couple of times a year. Sure enough, it set in yesterday and now today, I’m feeling horrible. It caused me to miss our friend, Mike Sherman, becoming a deacon this morning at our church, but Monica was able to attend. Congratulations, Mike!

Not much happened today. Snowed a little bit, but nothing stuck though. We’re busy trying to plan our honeymoon right now. We’ll post details on the wedding page once everything is straightened out.

Looks as if we have a few votes already for our poll. War with Iraq is in the lead. Go ahead and vote now! We’ll send the official results to Fox News in a couple of weeks so be sure to tune in to see the results.

Photos are fixed!

Just got back from watching the Bucs win Superbowl XXXVII. Our thanks go out to Mike and Laura for hosting a great party. A sort of entertaining game for a few plays, but alot of it was pretty boring. Guess it was inevitable after such a good game last year. The commericials were about average, with my favorites being the Pepsi with the Osbournes, the Upside Down Clown with Bud Light, and the Reebok Terry Tate. Now they will get replayed ad nauseum until next Superbowl.

Pretty busy weekend. On Saturday we looked at some hotels for the wedding and finally started our registry at Crate & Barrel. We’re going to Hecht’s and Target next so we’ll put up the links and info on the wedding page when we get everything straightened out. Saturday night, we went to a party at Rich and Conni’s to celebrate Conni turning the big 3-0. Happy Birthday, Conni!

Our email is finally working so you can now get ahold of Monica at monica at brimon dot net, Brian at brian at brimon dot net, and even Jack at jack at brimon dot net.

If you haven’t noticed already, there’s a new link in the nav bar for our WebCam. It’s currently pointing just over my head into our living room/dining room area (you can even see Jack’s bed on the right). Check it out every once in awhile to see if you can catch us picking our nose or something.

Gave the front page a little bit of an overhaul today. Added a picture, changed how some of the things are displayed, etc. What do you think?

Monica is putting information together for the wedding page, and it should be updated in the next couple of days. Stay tuned!

Woke up this morning to no water. Turn on the faucet and…nothing. Life’s a bit different when you don’t start the day with a hot shower. Life is very different when you can’t even flush the toilet. We’ve had a few days of arctic, spit-and-it-freezes-in-mid-air cold weather and last night was the worst we’ve had so far. As a result, our water meter froze up and stopped our water supply. I’ve been told about letting a faucet run when the temperature is cold (even last week by my dad), but it didn’t even occur to me until after I tried to wash my face with some soap mixed with air. The water company didn’t even come out to fix it today (I first called them around 6:15 am), but they finally fixed it this evening after I called them back and listened to the guy tell me they had received a ton of customer service calls and fixed every one of them.

So now, every faucet is on full blast, and I can sleep soundly knowing that the draining noise I hear is the sound of water not freezing…and money being sucked out of my bank account to pay the water bill.

As you may have noticed, I have changed some font sizes once again on some pages. Monica thought the last one was too small, so let’s see how people do with the new size. I modified the photos section a little bit, but I still need to do some more with it. I moved the “Leave a Message” from the wedding page to it’s own page which is linked from the main page. Hopefully this won’t confuse anyone. I also redid the “about us” page and main page some, moving things around and, generally, making things look cleaner. Comments, thoughts, and suggestions about any of this stuff are always welcome.

Not much happened today otherwise. Went to AAA to talk to someone about our honeymoon; got a few books and talked to a lady for awhile. I also checked out some web sites and message boards so we have alot of things still to sort through. We are possibly meeting with someone about our wedding invitations this weekend. Monica is doing a TON so maybe she’ll update here about that sooner or later.

On a non-wedding note, I’m really looking forward to seeing Catch Me If You Can this weekend. It just looks as if it has that kind of style and music that I always love in a movie. For more info about the real life guy upon which the movie was based, check out this site. Be sure to read the “Film & Book Comments” section.

Added the guestbook to the bottom of the wedding page. Now anyone can leave us a name and some comments. Just like a real web site, huh?

We were supposed to get a couple more inches of snow today, but it was too warm for any of it to stick so it just melted as soon as it hit anything.

I also started really planning our honeymoon…it’s going to be great! Unfortunately, I’ve been so busy doing that and working on this site, I’ve neglected my XBox. Love that Unreal Championship (online, of course).

This is the very first post for the brimon.net blog. Spent the last few weeks putting this site together, most of the time spent creating the photos section. I just added the wedding and about us pages so those should be working now. Still have to do the Jack and Links pages and whatever else I feel like adding. This site will be a continual work in progress. Feel free to look around and send an email if you like.

We took down our Christmas decorations today finally, all while receiving about four inches of snow and watching some great NFL playoff action. Monica fixed a great pot roast which somehow tasted even better with the weather being so bad.
