It’s about time someone in Hollywood started making some sense.

Seriously, Bruce Willis makes some good points. Do you ever hear a positive news story about Iraq? If you know anyone who’s been over there (and I do), you’ll know that there are plenty of them. Yet you won’t normally hear the liberal mainstream media talk about any of them. It’s not that I think they are consciously reporting skewed news, but it is my opinion that they are so biased that they actually think they are writing factual articles, when in fact they write story after story pushing their own liberal agenda.

If you follow the news at all though, this shouldn’t come as any shock to you, but at least someone like Bruce Willis is doing something to combat it. Depicting American soldiers as “brave fighters for freedom and democracy” isn’t something Hollywood does very well any more. It’s how the American public views them, but that’s not what the liberal media would have you believe. I hope this movie gets a chance to prove them wrong.

Anybody else sick of the whole Cindy Sheehan thing? It’s really sad that her son died in Iraq, and I feel terrible about that…but the media are making her out to be some kind of martyr while leaving out all of the wacky things that she has said on almost a daily basis. This lady has had a history of radical left-wing agenda and just keeps spewing the same lies that we’ve heard since John Kerry was still relevant, but she is being portrayed as just some poor Mom who is simply grieving for her son.

This is the kind of thing that really bugs me about mainstream media and the left in general. It’s always awful when soldiers die in Iraq, but there are so many more proud parents of those soldiers that support what we are doing than there are Cindy Sheehans. You won’t see that reported though.

Except maybe here and here.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all affected by the horrific bombings in London today.

That being said, I hope that if any good comes out of this, it’s that the United Kingdom, if not all of Europe will finally wake up and realize that you must take the fight to the terrorists because they will undoubtedly take the fight to you. Spain crumbled and gave into the terrorists, but I hope that Tony Blair will not let England suffer the same fate.

The fanatical Muslims that perpetrate these heinous acts are pure evil. They cannot be reasoned with or appeased as most of Europe believes. The United States is not the bad guy in this scenario, but I fear the European press (and much of the American press) will spin it that way as they always do. We must not let these kinds of acts deter us from what we must do; defeat al-quaeda and their ilk.

I thought President Bush did a great job with his speech tonight. He spelled out the case for why we are fighting, and you could tell it was genuine and heartfelt, even down-right emotional. Of course, he’s not going to convince anyone on the looney left, but that’s not really what he was trying to do anyway. I really think he was just trying to make sure Americans aren’t being swayed by the avalanche of negative press, not only from this country, but worldwide. You can tell he meant what he said, and his message hasn’t changed since September 11, 2001.

I stayed up way too late last night watching the returns come in, and went to bed a happy man. Turns out I agree with the majority of America. It was a good day all around, for every branch of government, and all without recounts and lawsuits…so far.

I have to give to Kerry though for at least doing what’s best for the country and conceding today. Neither side wanted this election to drag out over a couple of months again.

No gloating here. Just pure joy. :)

At least my voting experience wasn’t as bad as others yesterday. I didn’t have to wait in line for hours, but the A-K line was pretty long in my district. Fortunately, there was no one in the L-Z line.

Boy, do I hope the American people get it right tonight.

And boy, do I hope we know the results tonight.

I truly believe that this country will take a giant step backward if John Kerry is elected President. I guess there’s no secret whom I voted for, eh?

If you didn’t see Senator Zell Miller’s speech last night at the Republican National Convention, get thee to this site immediately and watch it.

You can read the text of the speech, but you really have to view the video to get a sense of the raw emotion he displayed and the passion with which he delivered one of the best speeches I’ve ever heard.

Here’s a great quote from someone I never thought I’d quote.

From this article…which I found out about here.

WINNIPEG – In the eyes of Alice Cooper, all the rock stars campaigning for Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry are guilty of one thing: treason. The shock-rock legend, a staunch Republican who attends NBA games in Phoenix with Arizona Senator John McCain, was disgusted when he learned of plans by Bruce Springsteen, John Mellencamp, R.E.M. and other bands to hold a series of concerts aimed at unseating U.S. President George W. Bush.

“To me, that’s treason. I call it treason against rock ‘n’ roll because rock is the antithesis of politics. Rock should never be in bed with politics,” says the 56-year-old Cooper, who begins a 15-city Canadian tour on Aug. 20 in Thunder Bay, Ont.

“When I was a kid and my parents started talking about politics, I’d run to my room and put on the Rolling Stones as loud as I could. So when I see all these rock stars up there talking politics, it makes me sick.”

“If you’re listening to a rock star in order to get your information on who to vote for, you’re a bigger moron than they are. Why are we rock stars? Because we’re morons. We sleep all day, we play music at night and very rarely do we sit around reading the Washington Journal.”

My first memory of anything political is the election of 1980. I remember sitting in the back seat of our car and asking my parents whom they had voted for. If I recall correctly, they said Carter (suckers).

I had seen Ronald Reagan speak on TV, and though I really didn’t understand what I was watching, my six-year-old brain knew that I liked the man. Over the next eight years, the rest of the country and I grew to love him as our President. As you watched him on TV, he seemed to speak to each one of us individually, and you could tell he cared about every American.

It was heart-wrenching watching Nancy lay her head down on his casket yesterday. This is the first President that I really remember, and I guess I have some sort of emotional attachment because it made me very sad, especially when they played Hail to the Chief as they pulled his casket out of the hearse. People were stopped on over-passes, clamoring to get a glimpse of the procession, and it seemed the entire country was in mourning as the news coverage showed everyone expressing memories of a great man that had passed.

Sure, every President has their faults, but President Reagan knew what America was all about, was determined to make her great again, and then went about and did that very thing. He was a great leader, a great politician, a great man – one of the best Presidents this country has ever had.

Rest in peace, Mr. President.

If you’re going to New York to exchange gifts and celebrate Christmas with your family, you might want to bring the gifts with you.

Apparently, it’s “okay” to have awards and parties spewing hatred and making comparisons to genocidal dictators as long as the person you’re talking about is named George W. Bush. :whocares:

I really like asparagus sauteed in olive oil with salt and pepper, but it does make my pee smell.

It is so “the cool” to stream music and video through a video game console and to control it through your television with your remote.

If you’re a former cabinet member who was fired, everyone will take everything you say at face value and not believe anything your boss says, because you certainly have no motive to disparage your former employer. :whocares:

I really like the show Airline, because there aren’t enough shows on TV that display the raw emotion and sheer stupidity that people express when they step into an airport.

Updating the id3 tags on over 5,000 mp3s takes a really long time but is much easier with this software.

I have a hard time believing there is global warming when the thermometer dips to single digits on a weekly basis.

I don’t think Joe Gibbs will be as successful the second time around.

I need to update this blog more often. :)
