We’re due for some nasty weather tonight and tomorrow. Of course, by nasty weather, I mean lots of rain and wind. If we were still up in Northern Virginia, that would mean at least ten inches of snow and lots of crazy drivers.
Don’t get me wrong, I dig the occasional snowfall, especially if it’s on the weekend, but it’s so nice not to have to get up and shovel snow before work. After the two and a half feet of snow we received during the winter of 2003, I’ve had enough snow to last me for about ten years.
So to all our friends digging out tomorrow morning before work…well, sucks to be you.

Monica took Jack to the vet today for his annual check-up, and it turns out there is something wrong with him.
He’s now classified as a “senior”.
So now he can get us discounts on early-bird specials and matinee movies, but unfortunately he wears his pants way too high and tells the same stories over and over again.
And for those of you wondering, his check-up was fine. He’s a perfectly healthy dog.

More history for you: sixty years ago today was the raising of the U.S. flag on Mt. Suribachi on the tiny island of Iwo Jima. You’ve probably seen this immortalized many times in a very famous photo, there’s actually video of the event that gets shown every once in awhile. Monica used to live right by the memorial depicting that event, which sits in Rosslyn, Virginia. We drove and walked by it many times, but most days never gave it much thought.
What you might not know, is that the moment captured in that picture was actually the second time a flag was raised there. For more on the story, read this article.
Happy President’s Day!
Just thought you might want to read a little about a man who was quite possibly our greatest President ever.

Amazing photos from Iwo Jima, an island of scorched earth where the United States fought one of the fiercest battles of WWII. For the soldiers involved, it was a month of hell on earth.
I stare at these pictures, and I am just in awe.
The Hokie basketball train keeps on rolling! A HUGE upset over Duke on Thursday night, and a butt-whoopin’ laid on Miami today.
Might we be headed for the big dance?
* I personally don’t think so. Probably the NIT, but how ’bout that for our first year in the ACC?

I’ve been working on a few things with the site lately, and now the search is borked, and I have no idea why.
I hate broken stuff.

Happy Valentine’s Day to the bestest wife in the whole world!
It was a pretty low-key one for us this year. Just exchanged some cards and some small gifts. But of course the greatest gift is the fact that we have each other. Right?
I don’t think I’ll get away with that for too long.
But hey, she’s busy studying right now so I didn’t have to watch any chick flicks or anything. This marriage thing is a piece of cake.

I reorganized some of the stuff on the site…mostly on the about page. I figured it was about time to combine our engagement, wedding, and honeymoon information all on one page. I’m probably going to adding some more on that page about us and our interests, etc.
There also might be another section of the site to debut shortly so stay tuned. Isn’t the anticipation just killing you?
