Yeah, I know. I haven’t posted in awhile. What can I say? Things have been a bit…interesting…to say the least lately.
I’ve spent most of my time the last few weeks working on our house. I’ve painted and painted and painted and finally, I decided to paint some more. I’ve also planted some grass seed and raked some leaves and power sprayed the house and driveway. Fun stuff.
And now I’m starting a new job tomorrow. Some of you may ask, “what happened to your old job?” Well, I’m not going to write about it here, but if you really want to know, just drop me an email or ask me next time I see you and I’ll give you the short version.
Anyway, I’m pretty excited about the new position because I’ll be learning some cutting edge stuff. I’m also pretty excited about enjoying my favorite season of the year (that’s autumn in case you haven’t guessed). We have some pumpkin candles that just smell awesome, and I can’t wait to get some wood to use in our fireplace. There’s just something about the smell of burning wood on those crisp fall days (while football is on the television, of course).
We are truly blessed, and God has truly provided for us. Our families and friends (and my new job) have been answers to prayers, and we just want to thank everyone for being there for us.
I think I’ll get back to posting on a regular basis. I know you’ve missed me.

Aramis, we wish you the best on your birthday. May it be filled with joy and happiness! You are the best brother ever!
PS – You are only 8 years away from being 40.
On October 14, 1984, my family and I moved from Puerto Rico to New York City. I can’t believe it! Sometimes I feel that it was just yesterday and other times, it seems like an eternity ago.
I still remember waking up really early for our 7 AM flight, the outfit I wore and also that it was my first time on a plane and I ended up with the worst case of motion sickness ever! As we stepped outside the airport, I remember the feeling of horror and excitement as I felt the coldest temperature in my life, saw trees with orange and brown leaves for the first time and not understanding anything anyone around me was saying. I was 9 years old.
In the months that followed, my brother and I simply wanted to go back home! We wanted our house, our friends and our way of life back. That of course, was until we saw snow for the first time. It was the most exciting and beautiful thing we had ever seen. Every day was an adventure that first year and everything was new and interesting. One of my funniest memories is my mom trying to explain that all those weird animals that I now know as squirrels were not rats, they were squirrels! BTW, does anybody know how hard it is to learn to say the word squirrel? Let me tell you, I am still traumatized by that word to this day.
Happy 20th Anniversary to mom, junior and myself!
