So we made it back from our Thanksgiving weekend in New York just in time to get Jack from the kennel. We had to be there by noon to pick him up today; otherwise, we would have had to wait until tomorrow.
After a night out on the town last night, we got up super early this morning to fight the insufferable traffic that is inevitable this time of year. Luckily because we left so early, the only bad traffic that we hit was the ten mile back-up to exit the New Jersey turnpike.
I hate that stupid road. I think it was invented by the devil himself. It is never not backed up.
So fighting off the sandman, we made it to the kennel with fifteen minutes to spare. Today was just spent watching football in between naps on the couch.
I already uploaded some pics from the trip, so watch for a full update in the next day or two.

If you haven’t noticed already, the site has a new look now. The look changed alot at first, but there’s only been two layouts before that I stuck with for any length of time, so let’s call this one version 3.0.
I try to improve on previous iterations, but I also like to change things up and incorporate new things that I’ve learned. There are still a couple of pages that need work, but most everything is complete. Check out everything and let us know what you think.

So we’ve seen two movies recently. One, the last part of a much-hyped trilogy and the other, another clone of those ever popular British-romantic comedies. No, the second one was not my choice.
If you haven’t guessed already, the first movie I’m talking about is Matrix Revolutions. Everyone’s been waiting since the spring to see how this story was going to end, and there’s been much speculation about Neo and the gang and just how the heck did Neo control those machines outside of the matrix at the end of Reloaded. I had avoided the spoilers as I wanted to be surprised in the theater. So what did I think?
Eh, it was ok.
I’m not going to spoil anything here for those that haven’t seen it, but feel free to discuss anything in the comments. Basically, not all of my questions were answered. I understand that some things are ok left unsaid, but, come on, you have to explain some stuff.
Now, onto that other movie I mentioned earlier. It was called Love Actually, and Monica loved it. So what did I think?
Eh, it was ok.
I can’t believe I just had the same response to Matrix Revolutions and Love Actually. The movie was enjoyable on some levels which means it wasn’t totally awful. What more can you ask from a movie today? There aren’t many movies that really blow you away anymore, so if you feel as if you didn’t waste your time or money, I say you’re coming out ahead. I don’t plan on making it a habit of seeing these types of movies though.
“Armistice Day was primarily a day set aside to honor veterans of World War I, but in 1954, after World War II had required the greatest mobilization of soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen in the Nation`s history; after American forces had fought aggression in Korea, the 83rd Congress, at the urging of the veterans` service organizations, amended the Act of 1938 by striking out the word “Armistice” and inserting in lieu thereof the word Veterans. With the approval of this legislation (Public Law 380) on June 1, 1954, November 11th became a day to honor American veterans of all wars.”

Brian and I had a really good weekend. Friday night, our neighbor Cathy, Brian and I sat in front of our house eating pizza and handing out candy to the 20 kids that showed up trick or treating.
Saturday we went Christmas shopping…yes, you read correctly! It was about a 6 hour adventure walking in and out of stores with our little list and as tiring as it all is, we had fun. We left the mall, had dinner and made it home just in time to catch the Hokies play a great game against Miami.
Every Sunday after church, Brian is all about the football, so I did what any wife would do…I went shopping. Because we had such great weather, we were able to grill our dinner and pretend it was still summer outside. That concludes my weekend update. Happy Monday!
