Just a quick note to tell everyone to have a happy and safe Halloween. Now go out and look for the sincerest pumpkin patch you can find and wait for the Great Pumpkin!

Well, I thought I would update the site, but there is really not much happening on the homestead this week. It has been a rainy couple of days in the DC area and it really makes it hard to get up and go to work or be excited about much.

We bought a pumpkin last night and hope to carve it by Friday. We also bought some candy and we will wait to see if we get more than the 10 kids we got last year or we’ll have tons of candy to eat, which of course, is not a problem at our house.

We hope to start our Christmas shopping this Saturday before the other trillion people in our area decide to do the same. One thing that Brian and I agree on is that we hate crowds, especially while we are shopping. We’ll see how that goes. We still can’t believe it’s almost November….YIKES!!!

Apparently, Brian has already acquired some tickets for The Matrix Revolutions that comes out next week. We hope to be blown away and left satisfied after investing some time trying to figure out the second one. We’ll see.

Johnny the cat is still around, Jack still hates him and Brian is still allergic.

That’s all we have. We hope to have more exciting things to report sometime soon.

This weekend, I left Brian and little jack as Laura and I went to the beautiful Shenandoah Valley for a girl’s weekend away. The weekend was absolutely beautiful. We had a great time at a little B&B called The Widow Kip’s Country Inn. The weather could not have been better and it was very relaxing.

When I arrived home yesterday afternoon, I was very happy to see that Brian had done many chores around the house and was doing laundry while watching football with our friend Bucky. Little Jack was very happy to see me and I was happy to see him. As I walked around the house getting settled, jack would not leave me alone. He kept following me around the house and whining like he usually does when he is unhappy about something. I thought to myself, maybe he needs some food in his bowl or needs to go out…..well, as I went to check on his bowls, his water bowl was completely dry. There was no sign that there had been water in that bowl for a long, long while. I asked Brian if he had checked on Jack’s water over the weekend and he said no. Well, I proceeded to give Jack some water and we all watched in amazement as he drank for about 2 minutes without stopping. I am very happy that I was only gone for 2 1/2 days instead of a week…can you imagine?! Needless to say little Jack was happy to have his mommy home!

This past weekend was Fall Alumni Weekend for the fraternity, and we had a blast.

Went down early on Thursday night, then got up Friday morning to check out the downtown area and eat some lunch at one of the old hangouts. It’s really changed since I graduated. The highlight of the afternoon was seeing the Hokiebird with a pair of thong panties on his head. Quite the picture.

By the time Friday evening rolled around, the place where we were staying (the Thieses’ house) was starting to resemble a bad reality show – like Big Brother on crack. A total of eighteen people, two infants, and one dog crammed into a townhouse that normally fits five. The problem was we couldn’t kick anybody out.

Woke up early on Saturday morning to start tailgating for the VT-Syracuse game around 10 AM. Lots of hotdogs and bratwurst were cooked on the grill before we headed over to the stadium to watch Tech open a can of you know what on Cuse. The Hokies were really firing on all cylinders. What a great game!

We enjoyed the party at the fraternity house for awhile on Saturday night, but what really made it all worthwhile was enjoying the brand new hot tub back at the Thieses’ place. Man, I got to get me one of those.

Thanks for the putting up with us, Kim and Jason!

It’s hard to believe that Monday is here again. This weekend, my mom, Julia, came to visit from NY, and it was great to have her around for a couple of days. We love to chat, shop, gossip and munch on some really good Puerto Rican food together. Brian likes my mom’s visits because she keeps me busy and he can watch all one hundred thousand hours of football without me disturbing him.

Thanks for the visit mom! We love you and can’t wait to see you again!
