So it finally happened. The wedding day has come and gone, and now on to the honeymoon.
Just a quick note right now to say look at the wedding day photos. We’ll post more when we get back from Hawaii. See you in ten days (or so)!
nothing to see here…

Updates have been a little sparse as of late…been very busy.
Miss Deb came into town this past weekend and in between doing “homework”, she’s been helping out Monica with the little things that must be done this week before the big event.
Monica and I both enjoyed hanging out with our respective friends last weekend, reveling in our last days of singledom. I heard she had fun, and I certainly did…especially talking to a wacky chick that had been in prison. That’s all I’m going to say about that.
I got my wedding day haircut yesterday and then I picked up my tuxedo. It turns out the sleeves on the tux shirt were too short so they’re ordering me another one. Should be in by Thursday. I guess if I had noticed that the guy wrote down “33″ for my sleeve length, the whole thing would have been avoided. No big deal though.
And now the family starts arriving tonight. Things are starting to get hectic, but as everyone tells us, “it’ll all be over before you know it”.
We headed down to Palmyra (just outside of Charlottesville) to hang out with some friends for the Fourth of July. Thanks to the Samples for hosting the shindig and proving some good eats.
We grilled some food, drank some beers, and had a good time; we even had a rousing discussion about health care, terrorists, the Civil War, and the Constitution (thanks Munch).
In the evening, we walked down to Lake Monticello to watch the fireworks. Check out the pictures and movies.
No, that’s not a reference to the old TV show with Marla Gibbs.
It’s how old the good ol’ US of A is today! So go out and eat a hamburger and some apple pie and watch some fireworks…you know, be an American.
Happy Independence Day!
I just realized it’s already July.
I officially nominate 2003 as “Fastest Year Ever”.
So Tech and Miami are now in the ACC…well, starting next season. It really looked bad for the Hokies when all of theses shenanigans first started with BC and Syracuse being invited instead. I think if that had occured, it would have killed Tech’s football program after coming so far over the last ten years.
Luckily, fate was on our side. Whether from pressure from UVA or the lawsuit filed by the schools left behind, the ACC eventually came to it’s collective senses and made Tech part of the deal and removing BC and Cuse (who didn’t really want to go in the first place).
Now, some people are pointing at Tech and calling us traitors. But hey, what were we supposed to do? There are definite concerns about the viability of the Big East as a football conference, and an ACC with Miami and Tech would be arguably the strongest football conference in all of the land. Any other school in our position would have done the exact same thing. The reall villian in all of this was Miami who was promising they were in the Big East to stay while secretly negotiating with the ACC for years.
It’s going to be alot tougher for Tech (or any ACC team) to go undefeated now, let alone win a National Championship, but I think it will definitely make our football team better. The ACC will probably add a 12th team so that there will be a conference championship so that means more money for everyone as well.
Too bad our basketball team will get their butts kicked for years to come. Where is Ace Custis when you need him?
